Welcome to the second part of our Vegetable food list for rabbitsAfter introducing celery, fennel, and carrots in our first post, today we continue with... three other types of vegetables, which are already present in most households – and are also well received by many rabbits.
Cucumbers contain a lot of water and are a refreshing addition to your dog's food bowl, especially on hot days. The cucumber peel can also be eaten – preferably organic.
✅ Advantages:
Low in calories
High water content (ideal for fluid intake)
Easily digestible in small quantities
⚠️ Important: Cucumbers only in small quantities Feed them sparingly, as they are very high in water content and can cause diarrhea in larger quantities – especially in sensitive stomachs.
Zucchini, whether yellow or green, is a very well-tolerated vegetable for rabbits. It has a high water content but also contains minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and vitamin C.
✅ Advantages:
Well tolerated
Hardly any sugar
The pulp and peel are also edible.
⚠️ Feed raw – never cooked! And: Only Zucchini from the store or homegrown without bitter substances use it if it tastes bitter – Do not feed to animals! Bitter zucchini can be poisonous.
Broccoli is very nutritious and provides many vitamins (A, C, K) and minerals. Rabbits can eat the florets, the stalk, and the leaves – raw and in small quantities.

High in fiber
Variety in the menu
⚠️ Note: Broccoli, like other types of cabbage, can causing bloatingTherefore, introduce food slowly and only give it in small amounts – not daily, but rather occasionally as a supplement.
